A good stylist will know the right shape of hairstyle that will be the most flattering for your face. Hair trends change, and, be honest, when did you last update your style?



Janet Gould, 51, from South-West London, was stuck in a hair rut.

'I have hated my hair for a while. I don't want it really short and I'm probably too old to have it long, so I'm not sure what's the answer.'



George Northwood, a stylist at Daniel Hersheson (danielhersheson.com), transformed Janet's look, making her look younger and more modern.



He says: 'We chopped the hair to a modern bob, then put some flattering shape around the face. You can have a sharp modern cut at any age, but then it needs to be cut every six weeks.'
